As the full horror of the natural disaster that hit Japan becomes more apparent, with thousands probably dead, my thoughts and prayers go to the brave people of Japan who are going through a time of fear, distress and grief. But these are a strong people who will rebuild, as they have done in the millennia past.
May their gods give them strength.
Our thoughts and best wishes go to our dear TE members from Japan who have show to us through their photos the unique beauty of their land and the indomitable nature of the Japanese spirit.
NO POINTS PLEASE.

even in the darkness, the torii stands bright and shines as a beacon - the Japanese have a strong mindset and their spirituality will guide them through, like this torii. it's a well-chosen symbolic image.
very tough times ahead.

This is a beautiful picture you chose as a tribute to the Japanese people.
The strongly lit temple coming out of the dark water seems absolutely appropriate, and a good image to tell us that light can come out of darkness, hope can come out of disaster.

Condolence to the victims in the mega disaster.
Rarely to see the shot to show the arch by night,
distinct night photo in dazzling reflection,
