Just trying out the new 55-200 mm Nikor lens sans VR. This is set at 200mm. The ring at the front of the lens is foccussed manually. I had to be careful not to touch the circular polarizing filter also on the front of the lens.
This is of course the iconic Mt Fuji (Fuji San / Fuju Yama) south west of Tokyo. Adjusted contrast a little higher in photoshop. The mountain is a dormant volcano which last erupted in 1707/08. It's over 12,300 feet high & Japan's tallest mountain. Taken from the Hakone cablecar terminus carpark.

Glad you to see back, with a fantastic picture about these vulcano in japan.
I think that your 55-200mm lens gives a very lovely result, with the hat of the mountain, certainly the sharpness and clarity be superb.
Nice composition, good presentation, TFS.
Have a nice day,

imponente la mole del vulcano con la neve che lo ricopre.
Buono il taglio che mette in mostra il pendio,

Beautiful and interesting catch of sight of this mythical top of Japan. Good use of this new lens which enables us to appreciate better the reliefs of these snow-covered slopes. I like your framing. Well done Chris, thank you.

A splendid close-up on this iconic mountain peak here covered in snow. The shot is well composed and has pleasing soft light and colours.

The mountain is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details and colors of Mount Fuji. The reflection of the light on the snow is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Chris, so you are in Japan now! You are more fortunate with the weather - splendid view of the top of Fuji, nice close up. When I was in Hakone, it was foggy day, there was no trace of Fuji.

A classical shot, based on two paints, white and blue, but effective.

affascinante questo vulcano.
Ottimo il taglio stretto sul cono che vediamo in primo piano.
La neve crea un bel contrasto cromatico con il cielo.
Well done and TFS!
