Photographer's Note

While the festival flaots and partipants gathered to the main precinct in a stream and the atmosphere there begins to be vigor, I witnessed one beautiful mother who sat down at the bench a little far from the crowded center point. She seemed to be clearly tired of taking care of two small children who just went to the toilet. My friends confessed that she was top class star of flaot leader several years ago but retired that position as she married. Please do not be melancholy, have the dream to let your pretty daughters another top star float leader!, I cheered her in my mind secretly.

Dear Takero,
This is a fine use of the aperture with the focus on the subject so clear and defined. She deserves the attention, with her beauty and character of expression. Her story is interesting - very good note with this shot.
There are so many elements I like here, the architecture even in the background hold my interest. Her costume and beauty however, are sublime.

Alive statue.. beautiful with tender light and delicate pose..
with so typical for Japanese architecture, background, might be the perfect illustration of the Michellin guide:)
Sorry the girl is not looking at us, such a direct contact would be even more attractive.. anyway like her calm and lost-in-thoughts charm.

What a cute mother! Unfortunately you couldn't cheer her up, by telling her all you wrote down here! She certainly deserved that... being happy for what she was and for what she is, with her daughters!
Another wonderful portrait!
Sharp fg, blurred bg, colors, exposure, pov, vertical format and composition are all outstanding features here!

great play with the DOF, leaving our eyes on the perfectly focused lady at the FG together with a blurred BG, but clear enough to indicate without any ambiguity where the image was shot

hi taker,
this is surely one of the most intimate portraits of your festival series. your subjects are usually looking into the camera, interacting with you, there's a sense of participation, joy, enthusiasm in their expression and in their gestures. this woman instead looks lost in her thoughts, withdrawn, as if already wishing herself at home... I like the way her eyes look away form you, her hands resting on her knees almost in resignation.
excellent choice of depth of field, as always :)

Questa foto ..esce dallo schema..non il contesto di "folla" ..ma un elemento architettonico , giustamente in piano "liftato".
