Japanese-style room preparing the Doll's Festival "Hina-Matsuri"(a festival for a girl)
The stepped shelf which was covered by red cloth to give glory to the doll which imitated the Emperor and Empress and the servant.
A miniature of furniture is given glory to in addition to a doll, too.

Beautiful contrasts. The red is really striking. The composition lacks a central subject, a lone doll would be great to look at against such a royal-colored setting.

Nice composition the red fabric on the right produces an exelent contrast for me. Lighting is perfect. Simple yet effective picture and pleasing to the eye.

Although I also miss a central subject it's one of the best color contrasts I ever seen.

Your shot enhances the geometry of that scene, Another subject like a doll would have distrubed from its simplicity and matching straight or crossing lines; this is good enough for me.
the only improvement I can see here, to follow the contrast idea is to crop a bit on the right lower side of the stairs in order to cut the parts where black shadows mixes to pure red color.
