Photographer’s Note
The Lady is on her way down, it was hard not to capture someone in the picture because usually it is always busy and people do come down regularly.
This photo was also taken in Nara, yes one of the first capitals in Japan and this is called the February Hall, there is a little temple at the top, beside this is the less impressive January and March Temple.
Here are the step where people come down, it is like a little route, people coming up on the right handside and the left handside, which is this side is for people to come down, dont ask me why please.
I was just amazed after walking down the steps, I just looked back for some odd reason and I saw these wonderful shadows on the steps and it formed a lovely pattern, I was just enthralled with it and took loads of pics as usual. I guess you could say I was practising for my trip to Tokyo
I hope you like it

Good observation of this jagged pattern.
Overall a very geometric study, with all lines leading to the "black hole", limited palet.

I like the graphical effect here Dan. The poles and the shadow makes a fine play in the setting. The incoming lady is quite 'modest' as a subject but anyway not so important for the compo

A very appealing study of perspective you made here, Dan. The wooden bordering at the side of the stairs would already do the job by itself, but to additionally have the diagonal shadow on the stairs emphasizes the effect even better. The lady is a nice and well-placed add, even though I might have waited to have her a few steps closer. Very nice one.

Hi Daniel
I like the zig zag pattern & the repetitive rectangle shapes of the shadows on the steps. Excellent graphism & good sharpness pov & use of a strong diagonal in the composition. Great work!

Nice Picture. I agree with you, the shadows make a really cool pattern.
Very well spotted.
I also like the optical illusion made by the beam from the top. It looks as if it is coming down, but it is actually a straight line since it is actually parallel to the horizontal border of the top.
Very very well done.

splendid idea, the stairs; pity the old lady is not more noticable, but on the other hand it makes the pic more misterious and main focus is on the stairs and its elements

Belo padrão de formas e sombras bem enquadradas, e o personagem como elemento dinamico na imagem. Linda composição Daniel.
Saudações.

Excellent capture of the lines and textures of the stairs and posts. The fact that you capture so many steps really makes it pop out. The woman coming down adds a nice extra touch giving it an even more active feel. The shadows though are what really bring me into it right away, though. Well done.

Hi Daniel, very nice zigzag pattern, excellent shadows. The old lady herself is barely seen, but it seems your intention is to focus on the steps. excellent shot
