This is a full scale model of arms of fictitious called GUNDAM.
GUNDAM is one of the most famous anime in Japan.

This model was produced as a symbol of "30 anniversaries of Gundam", "Attract of the Olympics to Tokyo", and "Greening of Tokyo".

Why is this huge arms a symbol of greening of Tokyo?
because, GUNDAM was an anime that made a population increase and a environment issue a theme.

Perhaps, it is a polite face
The real reason is just WE LOVE GUNDAM! lol

That's interesting! I used to watch a lot of these Japanese programs when I was a kid, and it's interesting to find a picture of this robot here in TE. The composition is great, with good perspective and lighting! Good job!

Well I think Odaiba is just the perfect place for displaying such a creature ! It takes me back to Goldorak times, a cartoon that was very popular in Europe when I was younger, good angle approach and the many people provide scale
