Photographer’s Note
During a trip to Akita Furusatomura (秋田ふるさと村), also known as Kamakuland, last winter, we were delighted to find a huge hill of snow had been built for sledding. We all slid down the hill on little plastic sleds.
The two Norwegians couldn't resist having a race down the hill. They fought each other down to the bottom, fell off their sleds, and then brawled in the snow while we all watched and laughed.
I can't remember who won the race... I don't think it mattered ;)

Winter in Akita means snow from November to April. In the deep winter its almost impossible to imagine what any other season looks like.
Technical: Adjusted levels and contrast to bring them out of snow; resized for TE.
