Photographer’s Note
The small town of Wada, a constituent of Akita city, as viewed from Wada Park, on the top of a large hill (small mountain, really) in the middle of the town.
From near to far:
Trees from Wada Park, thick wooden signs about the site, a kindergarten, a variety of shapes and sizes of Japanese houses, rice fields, forests, Route 16 to the centre of Akita city, the valley winding off into the distance, and mountains hanging on the horizon.
They say there's nowhere you can go in Japan where you can't see mountains.
Technical: Photo has been resized for TE. I toyed with adjusting the brightness/contrast, but in the end found the original photo to be most pleasing. Some of the white walls of the houses are a bit overexposed, and the sky is, but I don't see it mattering ultimately in this image.

Hallo, Richard.
This is a clean, pleasant-looking place. Good composition and sense of distance. I find it very pleasing when I tilt my screen until the 0 and 1 calibration boxes are indistinguishable - have you tried just reducing the brightness?
Best wishes,
Winifred
