Sumikawa snow park is located in the Zao mountains in the northern part of Honshu, Japan's main island.
A snow car from the resort takes people to these famous snow trees. In the Zao mountain range cold winds from siberia mix with the warm, humid air from the pacific in the east and this causes heavy snowfall. There are hundreds of these ice covered trees and if the sky is clouded the everything, the trees, the air and the ground looks white. |
