Photographer’s Note
Taruguchi pass is a part of old Echigo Road, which used to be main Yonezawa-Niigata route. But as the new road and railway completed in late 19C, now it only serves to connect small local villages.
It is also a ideal route for cyclists... car traffic is rare and numerous passes to climb!
When I was climbing, it began to rain quite hard. but as I reached the summit, suddenly the sun came shining thru, and the world around me was filled with light and vivid green colour.
It was truly a magical moment and I want to share with you !
