This is the entrance to Shirakawa castle. I remember waiting quite a while until people stopped entering or exiting the castle to get this shot.

Very good attention paid to composition along the edges of the frame, and I like how the various rooflines interact with each other. Since this is an architectural study, I think it looks much cleaner without random tourists in the frame. Your patience paid off. Nothing really "grabs" me about this photo, but the aforemetioned elements make it pleasing.

I wish I could make such sharp shots myself, it's also perfectly framed and the colours are wonderfully "real" to me.
