Photographer’s Note
This is Ogamijinja Shrine. I was sightseeng when I was surprised by the snow, and well... I hope you like this combination of the cold climate here in Aomori with a traditional structure.

I like the subject, and the snow is an intersting complement. Bit I would suggest you should try to push a little the contrast if possible, since the colors are a bit muted by the snow in my opinion. And I also regret the cropped stone with inscriptions of the right: you should have either left it out of the image our take the full of it...
All the best,
Emmanuel

Good use of the gate in order to focalize the attention through it, the snow is a nice pleasant addiction for this place beautiful and interesting, well done Halgeir, compliments.

Hello, Halgeir.
Se you have been busy, running around in Japan. I can tell you that there is more snow i Japan than back in Norway. keep taking those pictures.

Great Japanese atmosphere in this Image:) A bit tilted but at the same time more interesting. Maybe clone away the powerlines?

Hello Halgeir,
This is a fine composition with interesting details!
The muted light adds atmosphere, and the tracks in the snow life...
Well balanced with a good feeling of depth!

Halloen endå ei gong!
Yes, this is the one I really liked.
What strikes me here is how well the feature and structure of the torii is visible.
As you know, I am planning on making a torii of my own and this really is a good place to start when looking for ideas.
Despite the relative bad weather and the overall whiteness of the photo I feel the colours are brought well forward, lovely deep brown colour to the torii.
I agree with Emmanuel too, a little more contrast would do wonders here.

Exciting journey Hallgeir and interesting photos. As this one in an almost natural bw setting. You use well the gate and the depth to the bacground building. All set in a nice crop and cut. Interesting place.

I really love Toriis. Your photo reminds me of the tranquility of Japanese shrines and temples. If possible I'd edit out the powerlines in photoshop (or a similar program).
