Photographer’s Note
In the great Buna (Japanese beech) forest of Shirakami Sanchi, a nature reserve in Aomori prefecture and UNESCO World Heritage site, there is this curious tree.
Lying to its side and with a large trunk ((tree trunk!) ...no pun intended), its said to be a simulacra of an elephant.
I think if you look at it, you can see it looks strikingly like an elephant!

dear Richard,
surely it looks like an elephant raising its long nose over the head.
the nature shows us very humorous figures like this your shot!
also I often find those in the nature everywhere.
about dabeed's WS, it is clear and contrasted high, but in my feeling, the foggy air in the forest is precious.
thank you,
Akihisa
