Photographer’s Note
In Hachinohe, Aomori there are many shrines. This one is a Shinto shrine, it is situated on top of a hill. It is very secluded and saved from the city in most ways, but for the powerlines...
This was my first meeting with the shinto religion and its many shrines around Japan.

I like the sunlight paving the way to the shrine and the way you have captured it without disturbing any element in the frame. Good textures and a lovely perspective indeed.

Concrete Torii? That sure is a new to me.
Wjhat strikes me as great about this photo is the way the freezing atmosphere is omnipresent all over the photo and the way it seems to creep into me.
On the other hand I really like how the light in the background seems to give the shrine a hint of warmth.
Pity about that powerline, but where would we be without power....NOW THAT WOULD BE COLD!
