A shot of the latest re-build of the castle at Imabari. Last year they finished rebuilding this guard house.
Imabari Castle is one of three "Mizujiro" castles. (Castle on the sea.)
The castle was built around the beginning of the 17th century, and was torn down one can estimate around the end of the 19th.
The rooftop one can see in the background is the Imabari City Hotell. A lovely hotel, and the view is great. However, the hotel makes it dificult to shoot the castle without modern architecture in the background...

A special and lovely piece of architecture, and it is interesting to see how the place is surrounded by the rock walls!
I guess it took a lot of manpower for construction...
Good point of view to show an interesting place!

Hei igjen Halgeir
It seems that your photos from japan will come in a long line eh?
I really like how you have captured this castle, and I do mean in both photos.
I do however feel that this photo is a bit too unbalanced.
The view of the castle is great, but I feel the large portion of water, even though it reflects the castle, is a bit too large and I feel the overall impression of the castle is lost this way. Also, a bit extreme with the overexposure of parts of the sky.
But overall, a great photo once more.

I saw your today's posting on this castle, and I have to be honest that it is not the best of the three postings. This one gives a much better view. I can see what you tried to do with today's posting, but the foreground in that one is just too dark and the right top is just too over-exposed. In that sense, I do appreciate this one!

A fine low light setting Halgeir of this special place along the lake. The reflection adds to the final result in a good way.
