Photographer’s Note
I took this picture in Takamatsu Castle, Takamatsu, Shikoku. A close up shot of the top house in the castle is show in this picture. The two builginds on the right are an office building and a hotel building. In Japan, it is common to see mix of old and new; mix of oriental culture and western culture; and mix of natural and artificial.
A different frame to the same view is posted in WS

Hi Wes,
I like both and the WS is also a great post. Amazing light, contrast and saturated colors. Excelent enquadrement and angle approach view. Here the sharpness is a must in a clear picture. The title fits well with this nice work and picture that you present us from Japan. The mirroring water reflections are also a must.
Have a nice week and my congratulations. Thanks for your critiques and sharing good work.

Hi Wes! The colors and reflections are very attractive, it's the first thing that caught my eyes. And the mix of the old and new buildings are a good representation of Japan! Good shooting angle, sharpness and composition! rgds.

Hey Mr. Wes. You know a lot of people omit the reflection in it’s entirely but you sure don't have that problem here. The sun seems to be behind you and that has made it a bit easier to keep it under control. Actually I just looked at the workshop and I might prefer it just on the stronger foreground. But both are great! Thanks Wes.

Wes I must say good work in presenting all these views. In the WS that tree sure has a odd bend! This main photo has just the best lighting possible for this presentation. The old and new aspect is nicely shown here and hidden from previous postings. Its nice to see more of Japan. I knew you were not finished with that theme yet. Cheers and thanks for posting!

Bonsoir Wes,
Ce mélange de styles entre moderne et ancien arrive à se marier sans choquer !
Les deux photos présentées sont de très bonne qualité pour nous montrer l'évolution permanente de Takamatsu.
Très belles prises de vue.
Merci pour la note également.

Geometry and aspect for the "island" is great and well positionned. Of courne a larger view gives the contrast of lines textures and civilisations but this is to the advantage of the part of the castle.
A nice document

Hello Wes,
Very interesting image with the new and old presented here. I love how the top house of this castle sits on top of some sort of a wall. The new buildings in the background really add to the contrast. Beautiful reflections in the water. Great composition and well captured.

Hi Wes,
A clear crisp shot of tis interesting spot. Your note is right on about the blend of old and new, Oriental and Western. I like the rich hues and tones of this photo. The reflections are good and one can discern every stone in the wall leading one's eye up to the marvellous old structure. A very fine capture, Wes.

Hi Wes,
Beautiful picture, with a nice perspective towards the high buildings in the background. this is a nice example of old and modern architecture fusing together in urban context. The colours are very nice and i like the reflections on the water which make this composition rather symmetrical. Well done!

Hi Wes,
The Japanese's effort in preserving these ancient buildings should be commended and so is the refined skills of the builders which enable these buildings to stand the test of time. On your part you have skillfully displayed its beauty against the changing backdrop of modern development. The position you chose gave a special place for this castle which it deserved and the clarity and lighting is just perfect. Congratulations!! All the best.
