Photographer’s Note
I took this at the tropical park in Nago, here is where they breed butterlies and I found this interesting shot with the cocoons and the baby butterflies.
I am sorry if the metal pegs are not natural, but I guess some people havent seen these yellow things before.
I hope you like it

Nice composition and excellent colours. Good sharpness but DOF seems a bit small here, but still ok. A very nice catch Daniel, thanks for sharing.

Wow, this is a very interesting shot, Dan. Great cropping job, and good detail on the already "finished" butterflies as well as on the future ones. Colors are very good, too, thanks for sharing.

Hi Dan, Interesting picture, so out of the Yellow cocoon , comes a B&W butterfly. The butterflies are really pop-art to me! Nice compostion, I'm however not shure whether they are completely sharp.

Nice composition and colors here. I like the DOF, too. Works nicely here creating a great backdrop for these butterflies. But maybe the butterflies seem out of focus just slightly. I can't really find where the focus is. Maybe on the head of the butterfly on my right. It's still nicely done, though and still clear where it needs to be clear. And I like the use of the metal pegs mixing with the butterflies. Like it's people trying to replace something they destroyed but only in a minimal way. Good job.

Compo is fine & the clips add interest. Maybe you could have got one butterfly with its wings fully opened, although I do realize that they can sit there for hours waiting for their wings to dry.

I don't mind the pegs at all, they give strenght to the geometric pattern of this shot. well done

I for one haven't seen anything like this before, it is actually a factory. great symmetrical compo, with the two bnw butterflies and beautiful colouring.

Never mind the metal peg, there is nothing you can do about it, it is an interesting informative photo with an adequate note.
I like the colors and brightness in htis picture.

A really odd but good simple shot Daniel, technically it's spot on but the story of man's heavyhanded intervention (those clips are so brash)is well depicted (couldn't they just leave the leafs on the tree?
Great work.

This is stunning, Daniel! :-) Fantastic composition of these butterflies on the green leaves. Amazing colours, textures and details. I find the metal pegs a fine element as they silently remind us about the human touch to this natural beauty. Excellent capture!

L'ouverture de la chrysalide, la naissance de l'imago voilà le plus beau moment pour un entomologiste photographe. Magnifique, amicalement/jr

The title caught my eye and prompted me to open this (couldn't quite work out what it was from the thumbnail). Interesting capture, Dan, and good timing (or luck maybe) to have both the cocoons and the new butterflies in frame. Cheers . . . David
