Photographer’s Note
The cenotaph memorial, marking the exact spot, where the 2nd Atomic Bomb expoded above Urakami, in Nagasaki's northern suburbs, on 9 August, 1945. I've left the flowers in colour, & added a sepia tint, to the rest of the image, to more suitably match this historic, & momentous occasion.

Hi Chris,
Bela imagem de um belo memorial erguido em virtude da estupidez humana. O imagem sépia com o detalhe colorido ficou ótimo, me remeteu a esperança em meio a desgraça.
Well done,

Hi Chris.
Nice idea how the picture, except the flowers, is in B&W.
Well done!

Hi Chris,
sepia is a good choice with the colour spots. The simple composition fits very well for this. Good graphical effect.

I like the idea to convert this to black & white or sepia, with only the flowers left in colour. This symbolizes the way life was destroyed and the land left barren after the bomb exploded. Somehow the colour of the flowers makes the rest of the photo look even more grey and lifeless than if the whole photo was monotone. Great work!

Hi Chris
I think you have chosen a very interesting pov and perspective, but the ambience, and the colour shown, are the things that really enhances your picture in the way it appears.
Thank you so much for your words about my London pic.
Cheers

Hi Chris. That is a somber place well deserving of the sepia. As much as I like the shot I'm thinking I might go with normal b/w but I do like the symmetry and order to the composition. Nice shot Chris.

Really interesting work with partial desaturation. I think it is perfectly suited for this very symbolic shot. I like the very classical staright composition as well. Great job.

Hi Chris,
Lets hope that such weapons of war will become a thing of the past and that we won't have to bear witness to such atrocities ever again.Well captured and shared.
