Photographer’s Note
"Nagasaki was the target of the world's second atomic bomb attack at 11:02 a.m. August 9, 1945, when the north of the city was destroyed (Urakami, about 4 km north), and an estimated 74,000 people were killed outright with another 75,000 believed to have died of bomb-related causes in the decades that followed.
Some of the rubble was left as a memorial, such as a one-legged torii gate."

Wikipedia jpeg of the 'A Bomb' explosion
The intense 2000-4000 degree celsius heat & shockwave of the blast, levelled the entire left side side of the torii, & blistered all the kanji & hiragani writing. If you walk around the back of the torii to the sheltered side from the blast, you can still read the Japanese script. I've attached a WORKSHOP, showing a photo taken in 1939, several years before the 'A Bomb' explosion. This older photo is on a wall plaque at the back of the torii.

Bonjour, mon ami Chris,
La guerre n’a jamais produit de fruits durables !
Hélas, elle existe depuis la nuit des temps !
Il est bon de rappeler les dommages et les conséquences induits sur les populations innocentes.
Merci pour le partage (TFS)
Amitiés.

Good Use of the graphical qualities of all these forms and lines in this tragic place.

Hi Chris,
I'm impressed by that place and I appreciate your note and the workshop.
I wonder how you managed the blur of some of the wires, looks cool.
Good image,

Hi Chris. It's good to see a new one from you. You must have been lucky to not have a single cloud in the sky. But this is a sad place to be at for sure and hopefully the world never has to witness such destruction ever again.

Hello Chris,
Interesting informatiuon conveyed here, both pictorial and in writing!
Image is well composed and captured with good details, cables will probably annoy some but they are a part of reality...

Hey Chris, welcome back you were missed :D
Firstly i love the point of view here, i would not have even considered this pov. the background wiring adds somehow to the overall image which was carefully thought out which is somehow concealed in a motion movement. A nice composition with good strong depth of colour. Well done my friend.

Hi Chris,
Well found. The Torii is truly a symbol of the destruction caused by the Americans toward the end of WWII. It is also a defiant symbol of the strength of the Japanese, and their ability to withstand destruction (referring to such things as Kobe Earthquake, Kanto Earthquake, as well as Hiroshima and Nagasaki).
Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Richard

Namaste Chris
This is something unusual and something very informative you've shown us & so is your accompanying note. You've got nice blue sky & your POV is very good. What I am inquisitive is whether the other leg was blown away & how is the structure standing on one leg (some reinforcements?)
Regards
Angshu
