Photographer’s Note
Mt. Aso volcano in Kumamoto, Kyushu Prefecture is a very active volcano. Many times the area around it has to be closed because of all the dangerous gases emiting from the crater. You can actually walk up and look down at the crator. Many people have run down and jumped into the hot pool. There are signs all around the mountain warning about committing suicide.
I walked around for a long time trying to find a good angle to photograph Mt. Aso. I was lucky that for a brief moment there were no tourist walking around like zombies in front of me.... just the horse and man slowly walking by. I waited and waited for the right moment.
This is one of my favorite photographs that I have taken in Japan. I can`t wait to actually print it on silver paper.

This is a very nice and stark image you have there.
Japan has some of the best scenery in the world. It's so isolated and grand in such a poise way. Japan is pure poetry when you wee lots of landscapes because it's always got many stories to tell.
This is just so amazing. I am stunned by it really.
Sometimes words cannot really be of help to a reaction
