Photographer’s Note
There was quite a bit of damage by the film lab, to this particular image, & I've attempted to repair / remove some large scratches, stains & discolouration. Much better than it was, although still not perfect.
This strange Roman Greco amphitheatre is opposite the Yahoo Baseball Dome in Fukuoka, over on the right across the street.
I've added a workshop, showing the damaged version.

Hi Chris,
very interesting place indeed. This combination of classic structures versus modern glass building. I like chosen POV a lot, it gives great comparison between them, dynamic touch and great sense of dimensions (specially due to the bench). Colours are very intense and vivid, clearly a great sunny day is felt and I do not see any damage done so I guess you did a great job repairing this image. :)
Kind regards,
Jeri

Hi Chris,
I have to say i dont see any of the damage you are talking about... It looks quite clear to me! I like the combination of shapes and colors! The curve of the arches is well supported by the floor's pavement... Sharp details and good framing.

The restauration of the original sure come out in the best way chris, and for sure a compo well worth to present. The mix of old and new architechture is well considered in the compo and the low pov sure adds some graphic details of interest to the final result.

Olá Chris, impressive work made from the damaged version. Wonderful dynamic perspective from the past leading us to the future. The skyscrapper seems like a mirage made of glass, making an interesting soft contrast with the sky. The pattern on the ground enhances nicely the visual effect but the column on the left is a bit distractive.
Cheers,

Hello Chris,
A nice mix of architecture, which, nevertheless, seems to work well together. Everything stands out well under the saturated blue sky; lots of pleasing geometric lines. Perfect clarity. Very good pp work to recover a fine image.

Wow, great positioning in this shot! The curving line of the arches and the walkway is in just the right place to be able to complement the straight vertical lines of the tower. Great job with the repair too, as this looks really good. Well done!

Hi Chris,
good sign of early intercultural exchange I think ;-) I like this view with the curve of the arches and the skyscraper behind. Good and strong colours and I am astonished about the good clarity you achieved after that haze from the lab. Not to forget the rest. Superb PP.

Merhaba Chris,
If you had not mentioned the damage incurred at the film lab, I would not have know. You've done a very good job of post-processing. The the composition is particularly good, with the curved walkway and colonnades lead the eye naturally to the impressive architectural edifice.

Hello Chris,
A great image with the Roman Arches and the massive high rise that towers over the appearance of the old architectural design. you did a great job stabilizing the slide's scratcges and the overexposed slide. An excellent shot...

Hello Chrism,
I apologize for not being able to follow your latest photos as regularly as I would like to. I like this photo, there are so many eye catching features and seemingly clashing ages of architecture. The modern glass tower look peculiar to be in the same frame as this roman-style arches and columns. I like the sweeping bend in the pathway and placement of the chair inviting the viewer for a sit. The polarization is a dominant feature, defining the photo and giving strong impact. Great work.

Bonjour Chris,
une photo qui montre d'abord que le Japon est un pays propre et net.
Comme ta photo qui est sans bavures, très soignée, autant dans son cadrage que dans ses lumières.
J'aurais décalé un peu pour ne pas avoir la colonne devant le building.
Regards.
Daniel.

Nice. I've got a shot of the same location but from a different angle. Didn't actually go inside the structure to look from another perspective. Thanx for reminding me to always look at things from different angles.
This one well captured.

Namaste Chris
Admirable work with the PP to retrieve the details. The contrast of architecture is very well defined from your POV. The strong curve & the repeating arches make this shot. Not sure about the column in the centre...was there any way you could have avoided it? An excellent shot nonetheless! I admire how you're still continuing with scanned prints. The quality is most of your shots are excellent.

Angshu
