Photographer’s Note

Central Fukuoka City by night. This is the 'Canal City' precinct at dusk, from a bridge across one of several canals. There was a red light district in a side-street off to the right, which I wandered into by accident. Not quite the type of exposure I was looking for, lol!

Hi Chris,
PoV is nice and the neon lights show well against the blue hour sky, some of the lights are a bit bright. This view gives a scanned feeling at once, that being said I never managed to get a good scan out of my pre-digital night photos. Are you as a Pentaxist interested by the soon to come K10D ? I did a small WS.

Hi Chris - the architecture is pretty uninspiring, but the colourful lights and reflections definitely compensate for that, I bet the red light districts of Japan would be quite tame.

Wonderful shot Chris! The refelctions are very beautiful, and much enhanced by the fact that it was taken at night, so the colours are stronger and more vibrant. I like the little hint of colour in the sky, which then shows the outlines of the buildings on the skyline. Great work!

Hi Chris. I think your time of day when you took this was well chosen. The sharpness is high in the water and noise is very low. The colors seem rather natural as well.
