Photographer’s Note
Two things which symbolizes Japan are, Mt. Fuji and the Shinkansen
(bullet train).
From the time I came to Japan, I have seen pictures of the Shinkansen zipping across the paddy fields with Fuji-san in the background. I always wanted to take one myself.
It took me two years (due to my lack of Japanese language) to figure out the location from where this picture is taken.
On the JR Tokaido-Line between Yoshiwara and Fuji City, the Tokaido
Shinkansen passes in front of Mt Fuji without any visible obstruction. During June-July, beautiful flowers blossom in these fields. Most of these pictures are taken from the paddy fields.
This picture is of the 700 Series Shinkansen (Nozomi).
Travel Advisory: If you are visiting Japan and boarding the Tokaido Shinkansen at Tokyo, try to take a window seat on the right

Absolutely, fantastic capture of these two icons. And so well arranged for the compo. Reminds me (in a way) of the scene from 'Lost in Translation' where Bill Murray is playing golf, aginst a backdrop of Fuji emerging formt he mist, as still it would make a brilliant simlar shot, with two iconic Japanese subjects. My second favourite of the day.

Very good stuff. Like you say in your notes, this has been done before, but you have done it very well in this case. Perfect timing in positioning the nose of the train. Interesting how often we see Fuji where the top of the mountain is sharp and clear, but the middle level is obscurred by clouds.

I like this photo... You saw a mountains calm and trains speed... contrast between nature and technic...

Bravo Avijit for this shot and welcome to TE! i wonder if you could not have emphasized or highlighted a bit more mount fuji through PS? but i also like it as it is.
thank you for your comment today on my post ;-).. we, the decent world all agree... i guess... We all know better and have a real interest in the outside world.. not like those 51%... take care!

A fine juxtaposition of mountain and man made. Well composed with the train and bridge just as a minor horisontal along the bottom. Adequate amount of blur on train. The text on the train is an extra plus.

Great photo Avijit!
I like the slightly blurred train, reminding you that this train travels fast! I think the cloud between the train and mt fuji acts as a transition zone between technology and nature. Really stunning, and in my favourites!

Hello Avijit! Really impressive. You took the picture at the right moment and it shouldn't be easy. A little sooner or later it wouldn't have been the same. The blur of the train is perfect: we can see the speed but also the train. Perfect composition, and the clouds add something to the picture. Very nice job, congrat!

This a very creative composition, Avijit. Wonderful the combination of these two symbols for japan. Well seen and executed. The majestic, peaceful mountain in contrast to the modern, fast train is really great. I like it.

Made in Japan that's for sure, don't know if it can get any more Japanese than this (maybe an addition of a rising sun).
Great timing and exposure as well as nice colours and the symbolizm make the image very interesting.

hi avijit - fantastic! absolutely perfect timing and placement. your research and time spent was well worth it! i wonder, were all the trains white and blue? because those are the perfect colors to match the snow-capped fuji and sky. very nice symbol and tribute to japan, right down to the train's statement "Ambitious Japan!" indeed!

Great shot! I think your efforts have paid off. I travelled by shinkansen, Nozomi as well. I was lucky to see Mt Fuji on the way. It was great experience. Thanks for sharing. Behice.

Well, Avijit, from the results here, it can be seen that it was worth all that trouble to find the right spot from which to take this as the result is a really wonderful image in every respect. I particularly like the blurred message on the side of the train. It's just perfect for Japan!
Yours,
Andrew.

Hi Avijit, Now we know why they are called Bullet-Trains. Good sensation of speed here, with perfect backdrop. POV is excellent. Murray.

Hola:
preciosa fotografia del volcan olvidado en el tiempo, justo cuando la velocidad del tren hace que los relojes no se detengan.
Un saludo desde españa:

Avijit, this is a perfect nature-vs-engineering, icons-of-japan shot! Well done for the research. I wonder could I ask you to share your research and give me more details of how to get to this spot? TFS
