Photographer’s Note
This is the first trip I went to Shiga, I went with two other friends and one of which was a TREKEARTH friend of mine from Nagoya TSUTOMU, we decided we needed a change of scenery and pin pointed Shiga, and boy does it have alot of history.
Shiga was the first capital of Japan before Kyoto and Tokyo and had a lot of signicance in the past.
The picture you can see is the famous BIWAKO HANA FUNSUI (fountain) The gate way to sightseeing on Biwa, this fountain having a length of 440 metre is one of the longest fountains in the world, at night its shape and colours changes regularly as it is controlled by a computer. White, Orange and green lights show the spray of the water beautifully.
I hope you like Nessy

Hello Dan
It is really rare for me to see a lot of different colours in the nighttime (or evening). But I must hand it to you, this spectre of light and colours is the best I have seen in some time.
The composition is simple but very effective. Balanced in the middle but with a slight distance fade that gives the right impression of the fountains going further into the photo.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello Dan,
A very good night shot of these spectacular coloured fountains. Good exposure management and it's nice to see some detail still in the sky.

Belles couleurs. Elles sont précises et nous permettent une belle vue sur un très beau ciel claire. Merci !

Hi Dan. A good observation of this fountain illuminated in the different colorful lights. Nice choice with the panoramic crop that indeed makes it look like some amphibian or saurian thing. Well seen and shot.

Excellent capture of this row of fountains. Their many different colours are very nice and create a fine mood in the night. The clouds are nice too and give a nice effect. Well done!

Hi Dan. I was wondering what those fountains were supposed to be and I agree with you they look an awful like the loch ness monster. I love the great assortment of colors you had as well as the long shutter speed. tfs Dan.

For sure a most interesting capture Dan and a good comparison to the myth of the LochNess monster. Good crop and way to present the place.
