Huge wooden structure to support the eave of Nandai-mon(南大門)gate of Todai-ji(東大寺)temple.
This 25-meter high wooden structure was constructed in the architectural style originate from south China by the monk Chogen in 1199.

Here you show us an impressive work of handicraft. It's age nearly is unbelievable and it seems to be in a good state - but some paint would be good ;-) I like the wonderful details one can see here.
