Originally built in 1052 as a villa, the Byodo-in was later converted into a Buddhist temple. This wooden structure is over 950 years old and is one of the few remaining pieces of architecture from the Heian Era.

Thank you for showing this place..
it is a very difficult spot for photographers....Very dark building and almost impossible to have a full view from the main face...
Anyways...If you look at a 10 yens japanese coin...you have it in full
