Photographer’s Note

Kyoto's market is the cleanest, most organized and fantastic market I've ever been. The fruits are perfect in shape, colour and taste. Many of the Kyoto sweets can be found there, among them beautiful sugar candies modeled as perfect little animals, flowers and other motives. Great autentic artcraft can also be found, but prepare your pocket as the prices are far from cheap. The atmosphere is also great among the turists you can find the regular shopers as this old lady that seemed very aquainted with the seller.

I posted a workshop with a croped version, let me know which one you prefer.

gostei muito desta foto: boas cores e acho que a tiraste no momento melhor. Depois de tudo, talvez, o workshop è melhor, faz concentrar mais os olhos na cena que esta acontecendo.

Hello Flavia,
A very appealing daily life shot of this lady paying for her vegetables. I like the framing; whilst the diagonal placement of the stall gives a sense of dynamism. I think both versions are effective in their own way.

I chose the WS version because the feet are not going to tell me more and what is shown below the baskets or trays are not as interesting to me.

I prefer to see things in the tray and what the body language of the ladies are.

The blue tone of the next room is not interesting, so I like it when WS shows less. But this is not to say the vertical shot is not a good choice. Simply said, your WS is more effective in conveying the shop activity.

Tenho muita ontade de conhecer esses mercados Japoneses. Dia desses vi uno globo reporter falando disso e achei incrivel os locais, principalmente os mercados de peixe.

Bela foto das senhoras escolhendo os legumes.

Nice shoot from usual daily scene in down town in Japan in the evening.
This is the good old scene in Japan, anywhere available 10 years ago, but now become seldom.

This is a really nicely done capture of daily life for the Japanese. I like the inclusion of all the goods all around the people, it relates them well to their environment. This is the best for me.

Nice that you have included people in the middle of a transaction, and plenty of fruit in the foreground, labels in a foreign language are always an exotic element enriching the photo.
