A series of sukiya-style buildings located by Hachijogaike Pond in Nagaokakyo City belong to Kinsuitei, a Japanese restaurant famous for its bamboo-shoot dishes.
From March to May, it offers a variety of bamboo-shoot dishes ranging from bamboo-shoot sashimi to grilled, boiled, steamed, and tempura bamboo shoot. It is best visited especially during late April and early May as the azalea trees surrounding Hachijogaike Pond produce voluminous cardinal red flowers.
