Himeji Castle's roof. (also known as White Heron Castle) due to its white outer walls, is the best preserved castle in all of Japan. Designated a national treasure in 1931 and as a UNESCO World Heritage in 1993.

Hi Tom,
welcome to TE. nice shot of "Shirasagijo" i think this might benefit from a horizontal, landscape view so we could more view of the city and the lines of the roof. to me, the line of crests are more interesting than the thatches going down.

Beautiful POV and nice texture for this picture where the B&W treatment is well adapted. I desagree with the previous critic because I think the a 'landscape' view would be less dynamic than a 'portrait' one. An alternative would be to propose both a portrait and a landscape view...
