The "White Heron" castle, arguably the most beautiful castle in Japan. Himeji, Hyogo. It is one of only 5 castles left in Japan that have remained intact and in its original form. Many castles were lost to war. The White Heron is a UNESCO World Heritage site and dubbed the white heron because it resembles the bird taking off.
