Photographer’s Note
Here is a village in the Tsumagoi located on the west edge of Gunma Prefecture, and it is a plateau country to which all sides were enclosed by mountains.
A cool climate of summer in here is made the best use of and the cultivation of the highland vegetable such as the cabbages is active. There was a remaining snow in some places at the time of beginning of spring when I visited.
The soil of the earth is cultivated blackish, and it is understood that it is a rich farmland where nourishment was included the field.

I'm so honoured to receive a critic from you in Japan, Mikio...This is my first comment from your country!
I see a bucolic scenery that opposes verticals to the multi-layered slanted horizontal lines of ground and mountains.
The juxtaposition of bold foreground to misty backdrop is quite attractive too, especially in panoramic view!
A touching tribute to hearty "people of the earth"!
Too bad, I can't salute you in Japanese.
See you soon!
Robert
