Photographer's Note
This is the Japanese traditional archery as a ritual deed. Some big shrines conduct this ritual at the beginning of new year. This is called "the first arrow" in Japanese. They wear the original traditional clothes, caps and sandals strictly due to the rules.
This early morning I just knew today's event via internet and hurried up this shirine to witness. This was the first time for me to take shots.

Hello
Beautifully shown by you traditional archery competitions. In the foreground, the doyen of the sport, but I can see that a professional, I can see that he knows what he's doing. Fantastic sharpness and depth of field. Great color image.

Hello Takero,
You have composed this picture very well and cleverly used the parallel curved diagonals and the parallel horizontals of the arrows. The archers form a fine line, gradually getting more blurred but with perfect sharpness on the nearest man.
Kind regards,
Gert

hi Takero,
Your caught a perfect moment here, the one man tense and about to fire, while the others are all facing him, there angles seem to draw the full attention to the man firing. Great subject, and the costumes make it so much more too. I used ot practice archery many years ago, this shot makes me want to try again!
All the best

Konichiwa Takero san
Good for you to go out so early for this tradition. I hope you hit the target with your shots?
Great framing with the shooters in diagonal array and only the first shooter aiming at the target. Lovely morning light to round up your composition.
have a good time

Well done, Takero,
with a narrow depth of field, a traditional arrangement of the bows and the luck of a good light.
A happy New Year to you and your family, and
best regards from rainy Rhineland

Great repetition of form in this bright light, Takero. The variation in your subject - his age, pose, directionality - makes this quite dynamic, and as usual you've isolated your subject well with a wonderful DOF. Odd that they are shooting into the light - hopefully the sun doesn't blind them into an unfortunate miss!
