Photographer’s Note
The Tokyo subway system is the most used metro system in the world in terms of passenger rides per year. In 2006 it carried just under 3 billion people. The Moscow metro follows and the New York subway system comes in 3rd position.

However on this particular Thursday at about 9.30am all the working people were busy at work and we had this carriage almost to ourselves.

Hello Marlene,
I like your capture of this subway car. The DOF presents a nice pattern of all the advertisements and straps hanging from the ceiling. I also like the person in the distance to give a human touch to the photo. I have great memories of my two trips to Japan, and it was nice to see the subway again. :-)

Hi Marlene,I find the range of colours ,materials and shapes so interesting in your image. The top of the photo is so busy, while the bottom is vacant, the clarity is excellent. Thanks Tom.

Hello Marlene,
intresting photo of one of the trains which I, most probably, will never see in reality! I like this POV; from the green benches and quite "busy" top the look goes directly to the person who stands far in the distance as if asking "what would you like?" or "Why have you come here?"
Very good light managemens and very nice quiet colours.
Best wishes,
Elena

Hi Marlene,
I could not trust my eyes! You were really lucky to capture this empty (!) carriage in such a wonderful light. The composition looks like art work. A very good shot in best spirit of TE!
Warm regards

Hello Marlene,
A very interesting picture, I would say almost unique. I more or less thought you had to be squeezed in at any time in the Tokyo subway. Very good light and clarity and an interesting long perspective with many fine details.
Best regards,
Gert

Marlene, I like your sense of humour and good eye to catch these moments. Your notes are really interesting and the tones and colours of the image are also impressive. I suggestnext time do not afraid of creating a perfectly symmetric composition (you should trim 1 cm from the right hand side!). Many thaks for sharing it.

Hi Marlene,
A very original and well taken symmetric image with a certain spatial appearance and a good DOF, nice colours and lighting and a fine sharpness too. Excellent shot!

Excellent and inspired contrast between the title and the compo !!!
You make a great post with a "common" stuff, only thanks to the meaning you give through the title. Well done.

Busiest? This is not an example of a busiest metro... just a joke. Nice and well composed, it is empty, but looks ready to get a lot of passengers in a few minutes.
best regards.

Mi piace molto l'idea della foto!
è molto simmetrica, ma allo stesso tempo la persona sullo sfondo dona movimento all'immagine.Brava:)

Hi Marlene
Your write up is interesting. I was amazed by all the countries you have been to. I spent quite a bit of time in Japan but never thought to take pictures inside the trains.
Nice idea
