People enjoying seeing cherry blossom in the park on a clear day. I looked for blossoms shining in the sunlight, and then took this shot under the cherry tree, fired the fill-flash to brighten the blossoms of the shade.
Polarizing filter sometimes shows an unrealistic image.
The building like the Empire State Building in the background behind the blossom, is the NTT DoCoMo Yoyogi Building 240 meters tall.

Hisashi-san kon nichi wa,
Oh what a nice spring feeling this one gives ! It's bright, animated, joyful, so many flowers and the tower although centerd appears nicely detached surrounded by all these flowers. And you are lucky this year to get this fine blue sky, two years ago the sky was very grey...
Have a nice day JY

So you come back to a more conventionnal lens, the perspective is almost natural on this shot. I like a lot the work of composition you provided using the branches, the flowers, the building well isolated and the people enjoying the nice weather under the cherry blossom.
Should have been a nice moment.

I've just discovered your gallery and like very much this refreshing image. The white of the flowers well illuminated stand out nicely against the blue sky and with the people sitting under, it gives me the impression to look at a painting...The building in the far is naturally framed in between the branches.

Hi Hisashi, you bring us a festival of colors. you've nicely integrated this foreground of colors and your images consists of many layers of information, cool one...

Your photo gives perfect feeling of the place. Clever usage of blossomed tree branches as a frame and great advantage of wide angle nicely recognizable in your clear, good sharpened photo. Congratulations.

Hello Hisashi -
This is a wonderful composition with all of the elements expertly placed. The people look a bit unearthly but I suspect that the harsh light on the scene. You have managed this harsh light very well. I do like the use of the cherry blossoms to tone down the blue but featureless sky. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

I like your composition and POV a lot! the wide angle, the saturated colors and the high contrast make the overall composition look like a japaneese painting.
Interesting and well done!

wowwww magnificent composition, with an incredible atmosphere of relax and an excellent luminosity. Attractive brilliant POV and the building appearing in the middle of the cherry trees in flower. I like the touch of fiction of the photography ;-)
Best regards, Jordi

Hello Hisashi, just a brilliant image and placement of that well known building in this beautiful scene. The placement of the branches and scattered people on the ground just fills this whole image, leaving no wasted empty space.

Hey Hisashi, this is an image sooo Japanese! The cherry blossom is something sooo Japanese and sooo beautiful! These trees are really amazing and you did a nice capture, well including the people enjoying the park. Excellent work!

Hi Hisashi, something surreal about the light and colors at this image but the result is very beautiful and a well known scene fro Japan. Good idea to use the flash.
Have a nice day

Oh ! Hisashi, I had not seen this one, really amazing... The persons standing have a funnily bent attitude, also the ones in the angles, as you wrote in your note all looks a bit unrealistic but I like it a lot ! Great colours too, compliments !

Somehow it looks like I missed your nice and colorfull gallery for all this time!
My fisrt thought was: it looks like a cartoon! The funky colors, this neat looking building nicely placed amongst the branches etc...
I didn't realise that the 17-40 would distort this much on a full frame camera! But I don't mind a bout it, find it nice.
A very "springy" shot.

Hi Hisashi. This photo encompasses all that Japan means to me. I see in this scene appreciation of nature, love of beauty and deep tradition. I have seen similar scenes in Hokusai's woodblock prints, where centuries ago people enjoyed the cherry blossom time.It is a real pleasure to see this work. The light is lovely and the gentle curtain of blossoms a masterly touch. Arigato.Regards. Klaudio.

Never been to Japan but I can easily (even though I'm sure I'd be far from the reality!) imagine how this cherry blossom period in your country must be really fantastic
This picture in any case is a good ad that could easily be used by japanese travel agencies !
