Photographer's Note
Im not sure what the rest of the world is like but in Japan I think I can safely say that almost everyone has a cell phone with a built in camera. (2.1 megapixle cellphones are out there now) and people are snapping pics left and right with their phones. I was walking around Takashimaya Department store that currently has a display of christmas lights around the building taking some pictures. I wasnt really happy with anythign I was getting and sat down on a bench for a while. this orange sign was in front of me and I saw yet again someone snapping off a photo with their cell phone. the silouette of the guy and his girlfriend subject made this a one off photo for the night

Another nice shot of yours.. The colors, everything works well in this shot. The graphism of the japonese script. The red, the shadow of the guy with the cell phone.. Very good.

wow - red, black and white gives a very strong graphical image here. The white lettering looks great and the black silhouettes are well placed in the image. The two vertical black stripes are very important to the composition with each person in a separate rectangle. The slight shadow on the red wall is great too.
And a good note, perfect!

A great sihouette. The composition of red-white-black is very nice. Yes, also in Isreal it's hard to take a picture without catching by mistake a few cellphones.
When they'll see a 6 MPixel good camera callphones, I geuss we'll all have one. We could post to TE straight from our cellphones!!

Very cool image, Boof. I like how "graphical" this composition is, and that it basically only consists of red, white and black. The silhouettes are great - the guy seems to have his mouth open, saying "what the heck is up with that shot I just took" ;-)
A favorite.

But very well seen, I think you can be satisfied with the evenings work. Fantastic color and silhouette.
The heading in latin letters is very suiting. The question is, with the double meaning of the word, is a digital square a picture or a TE-member?

Superb - just three colours! Thanks too for the note and the translation of the sign, which makes it interesting on a whole extra level.
I can't wait for cameras with builtin cellphones (rather than a phone with a tacked on camera), or at least a decent camera with Bluetooth. Never run out of storage again! Just upload the pics to the server as you take them...

Excellent work. Great observation, really well presented. The definition, contrast and minimal colors all contribute.
I can't make up my mind about the person on the right though - should they be fully framed or not... Who cares? This is still good.

excellent idea, the silouettes work very well.
"Digital square" : perfectly placed!
The only thing that bothers me is that the woman is cut in half.

Very interesting picture Boof. It could be used as it his for an add! Silouettes are just contrasting in a very good way on the red and white background of the sign. Nice composition. Nice conceptual shot! Bravo! I wish I could translate what it it written there...

You could have titled this photo "Digital Square 21" but never mind - it’s a great shot - Dark, Red, white and the silhouettes. If you has taken the photo with your phone would it have been perfect - Nice work - thanks for sharing

It is surprise that my familiar scenery changes expression a lot! I was often walking along this sign before. Boof which completes such a work from everyday scenery is wonderful!

What a lovely urban capture, I adore this dark night atmosphere combined with the red Japanese sign. The silouettes of those guys sure look impressive, I like them being completely black. Red&Black, that's sure a very nice combination!
Anyways, this looks great, I think I'm adding it to my favs.
regards,
Linas
