Photographer's Note

This photograph was taken in the Shinjuku station yard of JR in January, last year. Shinjuku Station is a terminal station located in the newly emerging city center in Tokyo. The five-company office of JR, Keio Electric Railway, Odakyu Electric Railway, Tokyo Metro, and the Transportation Bureau of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has ridden in now. Moreover, the numbers of one-day average getting-on-and-off persons are about 3,260,000 people and most busy stations in the world. Since this time was a time zone before commuting at 6:00 early morning, station yard was made leisurely. This photograph was taken towards the direction of the Shinjuku east gate exit. The platform number according to route is displayed on the direction board of a station, and arrival time is blinking to the electrical board in this station. Generally, a passenger passes a ticket gate with the ticket of paper or magnetic-type electronic money. As for the guidance explanation of station yard, there is in Japanese and English. And, Chinese and Korean are written together at main stations in many cases.
