Photographer's Note
1/18 Tokyo (Shinjuku)
Next days i’m gonna upload 18 pictures of my last trip to Japan. All I can say about this trip is it was an incredible and awesome experience for my five senses. Beautiful landscapes, big cities, cleanliness, silence and noise, order and chaos, modernity and tradition, excellent food and a lot of nice people who were always giving me a helping hand everytime i was absolutely lost in translation.
Roughly 10% of the Japanese population, more than 15 million people live in Tokio, one of the world’s largest cities.
The initial shock when you visit Shinjuku is considerable, but it won’t kill you. North-west of the city’s downtown area, this neighbourhood is total Tokio: elegant prosperous business quarter to the west, exuberant high and low life to the east, and underground a whole other teeming city of shops, boutiques and sushi bars. Big buildings, neon lights, underground pavements, overground railways, busy people going everywhere,.. and absolute gift for your senses!
These 18 pictures are dedicated to all the Japanese i met in this amazing country last August.
O-sewa ni narimashta!

Hello Richard,
Your photo is a great capture of the vibrant and crowded Shinjuku area. I love the desnely packed buildings, providing so many lines and colors; the train on the bottom of the frame is also a great detail. There is so much to see in this photo! I visited Japan twice, and would love to go back again some day...

Hola Ricard,
It is a great coincidence. This shot has been taken at the quite same place as my last post, only just the opposite direction.
You have succeeded in capturing the confused Shinjuku, making good use of the compression effect of long lens. A train is also expertly placed in a good moment.
Best wishes, Hisashi

This is a busy photo but I like it because there is a lot to see and you could look at it 100 times and still find something new.
