Au plafond, le message signifie, approximativement, « vous pouvez entrer, n’hésitez pas ». Effectivement, ils font bien de préciser, car si l’on ne connaît pas, il y a de quoi hésiter. Il s’agit en fait de l’une des deux entrées du Mandarake de Shibuya, une chaîne de boutiques consacrées aux mangas (photo prise à l’intérieur ici). Pour ceux qui ne supportent pas les mangas, il y a dans cette entrée un je ne sais quoi qui fait penser à l’entrée menant à l’Enfer, dans la Divine Comédie de Dante. Pour les autres, c’est l’entrée du Paradis.
PS : « Say Hello to Black Jack » est le titre d’un excellent manga se passant dans le milieu hospitalier japonais. Mais Black Jack est aussi (et surtout) le nom d’un célèbre personnage de manga créé par Osamu Tezuka. On l’aperçoit sur la fresque : c’est le personnage avec une cicatrice et tenant un scalpel de la main droite. Non, non, ce corridor n’est pas un coupe-gorge, entrez sans hésiter, puisqu’on vous le dit !

On the ceiling, the message means, approximately, « you can enter, don’t hesitate ». Effectively, this is a useful precision because the passage is a bit dissuasive. In fact, it’s one of the two entrances of the “Mandarake” in Shibuya, a bookshop specialized in mangas (picture of the inside here). For those who can’t stand mangas, there’s probably in this entrance a little something which can make thinking about the entrance of the Hells in the “Divine Comedy” by Dante. For the others, it’s the entrance of the Paradise.
PS : “Say Hello to Black Jack” is the title of an excellent manga which takes place in the Japanese hospital system. But Black Jack is also (and above all) the name of a famous character created by Osamu Tezuka. We can see him on the painting : he’s the one with the scar and the scalpel. Yes, we assure you that you can enter !
