Photographer’s Note

Rainbow Bridge crossing northern Tokyo Bay and Tokyo Tower at fine dusk.
Selected the slow shutter speed to make some small flows of the lights of the cars.
This is one piece which lights of buildings did balance best with evening sky in the background, in taking a shot of 42 pieces on this day.

Taken from Hachitama, a spherical observatory 32 meters in diameter and 100 meters off the ground, where is on the 25th floor of Fuji TV.
Used the self timer putting the camera on the frame of the window.

This is natural colour, single shot, not collage.

Wow! This is certainly a cityscape I would have loved to do while in electrifying Tokyo. The very impressive Rainbow Bridge serves as a perfect background over the buildings and structures that define the japanese capital.

Nice sunset and subtle colours for a remarkable shot.

Brilliant view of the Tokyo skyline, I like that you combine the early evening glow from the city lights with the natural glow of the sunset sky, the colors are superb, I know where you have been I have visited the Fuji TV building when I was in Tokyo, earlier in the day though, so I took my night pictures from the Odaiba shopping center esplanade instead.

Hi Hisashi,

thank you for this beautiful Tokyo panorama. I love it. I hope I could visit Tokyo by the end of the year. This is my biggest wish and everytime I see a capture of Tokyo my hearth bounces quicker. :) Such a great capture of most embracing colours. Beautiful city lights and architectural structures. Excellent shot!

You have captured some fine light here and the slow shutter speed was a good choice. I think it would make the image stronger if you cropped the top just above the tower on the right. It still leaves enough sky to giveus the sense of the colour.

This is a good postcard shot...well done but most of the other photos in your gallery falls short of the pictorial quality it ought to have to drag the smileys in numbers...

Unfortunately I have not been in Japan yet. I hope I’ll have the chance to visit your country in the future. I’m really curious. Especially Tokyo is such a fascinating city, at least from European POV. This very good shot of the impressive urban landscape of Japan’s capital city increases my desire to come.

wonderful shot of this very nice bay. At first sight, I was wondering about your pov and after I read your note, I understood. I arrived too late there and didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the sight from the observatory. The colours are very nice and the light is very well managed. Perfect sharpness and clarity with well visible details.

Browsing your gallery and I am amazed that this has gathered only 18 comments so far out of 2040 views. It is a splendid capture of Tokyo, wonderful composition, pinpoint colours, detail and sharpness. The exposures are top notch, and the moving boat in the bottom right is a wonderful detail. Im wondering if a ND grad would have slightly darkened the top half of your image, but that is so minor and it doesnt bother me.
To me one of the best city shots I have seen here on TE.
