A HAPPY NEW YEAR to all TE friends!
In Japan, a Fox is believed to be a servant of the God and treated as an sacred animal from a long time ago. You can see sometimes stone statues of fox in front of shinto shrines in Japan. This area (one ward of Tokyo downtwon area) conducts the "Fox disgise procession" every new year's eve. Adults and children, both of two, make-up by face painting or taking the masuk, join this unique precession. They are member of small orchestra as players of Japanese traditional flute, accompanied with the procession.

Hello Takero. Foxes - aha! Music enchanted the people. The two girls in traditional costumes look cute. Overall a good shot. Rgds, Wolfgang.

Amusing girls representing foxes. I like specially the fox on the left side. I find it funny that the fox is such a symbol. But it seemed to me you wanted to go somewhere else.
All the best, have a nice Sunday

Hi dear Takero. I love this shot as it tells me so much about the folklore and beliefs of the Japanese. I still remember a scene in Akira Kurosawa's last film about tales from Japan in which a small boy wonders off from his mother into the pine forest and witnesses a fox procession. They were playing flutes also (I think) and would stop each time after taking several steps and then would look around to see if anyone was watching. It was an eerie scene, quite powerful. Your photo captures some of that spirit. All the best for 2011 Takero. Regards. Klaudio.

This one is classic. I liked the girl on the right. Very sharp colors and well framed.

I can almost hear the music as I see this image, a beautiful capture of a very special moment in time. The expressions on the performers are excellent, you can tell that they are very much absorbed by their music. Another wonderful shot.
Thanks as always, and best wishes from a wet and stormy Ireland.
