Harajuku apartments are a landmark in the trendy Omotesando area. Due to safety concerns, they are planning to break them down. It's a shame as another part of Tokyo's history is being destroyed to be replaced with another shiny complex.
This is a doorway in the back.
PS> auto contrast and unsharp mask.

I really like your use of b&w here, particularly on film too. The sense of decay is nicely brought out by the lone door-knob.
I doubt this level of feeling could be captured with digital in b&w - but, I will keep trying.

I can't just say why I like this photo so much, let's say it's a very attractive work, it has something to tell and I keep looking at it...

Being a sucker for abandoned and disued buildings, I absolutely love this photo. For some reason, it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. I don't know why, but black and white was defaintely the way to go.

Indeed, the feeling of this shot is spectacular. For me anyway, it feels as if nature is reclaiming what has been taken away from it. Magical image, perfectly executed.

Very cool. Good choice using b/w. Great contrast. You can really feel nature reclaiming this land... until people reclaim it again with a shiny complex!

Good note and great photo. Could the highlights on the leaves have been darkened slightly to bring out the detail more e.g reduced contrast after scanning? Great anyway!

This is a really nice shot Ken. You can tell the door was opened since the vines started to grow because the vines are thicker on the wall then on the door. It's odd the leaves are only on the seal of the door and wall. I took a look at some of your other photos and your style is much to my liking.

Time has gone and nobody has entered the room. I wonder what is on the other side of this door. Nice shoot and nice idea. Thanks for sharing.
