[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Comme beaucoup de touristes, je n’ai pas résisté à la tentation d’aller un dimanche après-midi au parc Yoyogi, à Harajuku, pour voir quelques-uns de ces jeunes tokyoïtes qui s’habillent de la façon la plus excentrique possible. Mais avant d’atteindre mon but, je me suis promener dans le parc et suis passé à un moment à côté du stade olympique. Il y avait foule sur la place qui le jouxtait, cela pour apparemment une étrange convention. Je n’ai pas tout compris ce qu’il se passait. D’autres photos à venir montreront qu’il y avait de quoi devenir un peu dingue. En tout cas, j’y ai passé un moment hors norme durant lequel j’ai pu mitraillé à tout va.

Like many tourists, I didn’t resist to the temptation to go, during an Sunday afternoon, to the Yoyogi park at Harajuku, to see some of these young Tokyoites who dress themselves in the most eccentric mood. But before to meet them, I walked in the park and passed near the Olympic stadium. On the place in front of it, there was a huge crowd which stands there for a strange convention. I didn’t understand very well the theme of this convention. Other pictures will show you that there was a reason to become crazy. In any case, I passed an incredible and delightful moment to watch and to take a lot of pictures.

Salut Olivier,

Ce protrait est très coloré, c'est le moins que l'on puisse dire. C'est assez dingue de voir cette "exagération" vestimentaire. Il règne une petite ambiance de folie que j'aime beaucoup. J'attends de voir la suite avec impatience.

Born in Japan...But louv U.S ;o). L'extravagance a l'etat pur, tres bonne photoreportage Olivier, on ne voit que le drapeau amercain, tout les reste semble s'eclipser...mais il me semble voir Elvis derriere non ? ;o)
Faut qabsoluement que j'y aille un jour.

J'aime beaucoup ce que tu tente de faire ici, Olivier: les couleurs claquent, il y a bien entendu l'ironie de ce drapeau americain, ton excellent titre. Cependant si possible, encore une fois j'aurais aime un peu plus de bokeh par derriere, pour isoler ces demoiselles encore plus, pour donner a l'image cette 3eme dimension si importante. Mais on n'en revient a une discussion d'equipement, n'est-ce pas?

Salut Olivier,
Couleurs très vives, belle luminosité, format vertical, je pensais que c'était une photo de Furachan. Elle est vraiment réussie et c'est exactement l'ambiance "déjantée" de Harajuku qui ressort de ta photo.
Je ne regrette qu'une chose, c'est que le jour où j'y suis allée, il pleuvait donc peu de cosplayers dans mes fichiers. J'attends avec impatience tes autres posts. Merci pour le partage, très bon boulot.

je trouve le commentaire de Francis très juste, il manque en effet du bokeh en arrière plan pour mettre en valeur ces demoiselles, sinon c'est du tout bon.
Une vision assez excentrique de la vie ;)

It seems like many photographers like to take photos of Japanese girls dressed in weird costumes, and I don't know why. And it is always Japanese girls to be claimed as strange/weird/eccentric in the photos... I have never seen Chinese/Korean girls to be captured in such a way. Of course it all up to your liking so I am not the one who should say it is good or bad.

Actually this is a funny shot. A bit pitty that you cropped the third girl in right side. I would have liked it with her completely in the frame or without her at all. Anyway this is a lovely photo.

Hi Olrik,

wow, great street capture. A very funky group of girls in very funky clothes. It is siomething I think of when I imagine Tokyo. Street fashion. On a technical side, I think the sharpening is a bit strong, you can see the stairs effect on the girl's leg. Try using USM instead of the sharpen tool. Remember, a bit soft is always better than a bit oversharpened. But its not that bad overall.

An exceptional street view. The colours are very powerful. Its filled with life and its overflowing. I cant understand whats eccentric dressing in this shot?. Anyway a great composition. Thanks for sharing
