Neon as a paradise of night, a photo from Tokyo, Kanto

Photographer's Note

This is a back street of the Ginza in Tokyo. If it becomes twilight, lights will be set aglow for neon of the building of the both sides of all alley at once. Here are the shopping quarter where bar, club and restaurant stand in a row this whole place. A luxury car parks at an alley and the hostess and visitor of bars are going the passage back and forth. The signboard of the store stood in a row in the wall of the building up and down, and it has released dazzling brightness to it. Such thousands of stores are located in the back street from the Ginza 5-chome street to 8 chome. The classical height which is not in other shopping quarter is felt for a passage, a building, and a store. It seems to be the world apart this whole place even now when business depreciation continues.

Hello Mikio - Your vertical framing is perfect here using the full height of the frame to capture the line of rectangular signs which anchor the shot. Graphic and well composed, I like the deep black BG against which the various sized signs are well presented. Warm regards rosemary

Nicely composed photo with a great selection of neon signs. All is sharp which can be difficult with signs at night. Makes a very interesting shot. Cheers, Neil

hello Mikio,
nice the night shot with the lighted signs to creates a good perspective and depth in the image.I like the clarity of the image and the only wards that can i read are 'the bar' and the 'ezebu tailor'.

Hello Mikio,
I like this composition very much. The many neon signs are interesting to watch and very attractive with their different colours. The contrast to the dark background makes them even more nice to watch. I also like how the lights are seen on diagonals going towards the bottom of the picture, where they meet what looks like a tall pillar of signs. The two red vertical signs also brighten the view. It is a very well taken picture with a good exposure.

A glamoruos Ginza night scene full of vibrancy and a visual feast for the eyes. The clarity is great a sure eye puller that carries more lively all round. This colorful neons adverts glow glittery which naturally leads the eye in. The combination of colors & contrasty to night sky is superb with adequate sharpness. Lights always remain as natural attraction and a treat for the senses, Well done, TFS.
