This photo is one that was taken in Bunkyo Hakusan, Tokyo. As always, I had a walk Korakuen, Hongo, Hakusan vicinity on that day. Here is an area of cottage industry engaged in bookbinding and printing lined, although it is the center in Tokyo. In this place, there are many workplace relationship of printing, probably is related to the educational district with a focus on universities in this area. The situation of a town rate to this seems to be the area which has not suffered the damage of war devastation. The first floor is at work, the second floor is the appearance of the dwelling. As the characteristics of the structure, there looks like mortar coating after the end of the war or boarding house of the Taisho period. And, as a business, it is binding work in addition to the catalog printing, poster printing, flyer printing, etc. of using the machine. In front of the building, collection bag of garbage was placed. This day, appears to be a collection day of burning garbage. By the way, it seems to such small businesses for supporting the life of the common people, although this is a manufacturing.
1. this area from another angle: workshop
2. The definition of small business:
The following nine regular employees to say in the manufacturing sector in general small buisiness in the city.

I always enjoy watching these photos of yours of small business streets in Tokyo. There are always many details to enjoy and a variety of architectural style and it always amazes me to see streets like this in the centre of Tokyo. I would have thought that the high cost of estates would have thrown out the small-scale businesses long ago and paved the way for multinational companies. What surprises me to find in a modern and technologically advanced country like Japan are the many wires hanging across the street. Where I live all such wires were hidden in the ground decades ago.

What a lovely street scene! Believe it or not, what I like most about this photo is the abundance of overhead wires crisscrossing the street.

Clear view down the street, Mikio, "busy" with many elements that tell about the daily life in this neighbourhood.
An amazing net of electric wires overhead, made me wonder why not put underground's like in any modern towns?
Nevertheless, a fine photojob.

A great use of colors. The deep depth of field is perfect. A well presented crop allows eyes to remain fixed on the street details. The nice light on the street and the houses colors also lends a lovely contrast to the scene. Well done. Greetings, Miro.

Very nicely done, a street shot with the shop houses as main interest and your narratives is useful. The composition and angle work fine as the cyclist on the edge holds the picture together and the benefit of the bright days is so well taken with lovely shadows and good colouring. Well done.
