This shot is from the big opeining precession.
She is a "maiko", not "geisha", typical Japanese traditional girl. I remaind that Japanese girls/ladies recently have much diversity indeed.

this is one of your most classic Japanese portraits - the high level of detail and the resolution of the image show the make-up in a flawless way: all the typical beauty attributes (the deep red lips, the almost white skin, the dark hair, the shaped eyebrows) come beautifully alive thanks to the perfect light.
indeed a perfect study of this lovely maiko face.

I would have thought she was a geisha ! Misterious Japan for western people.
Beautiful photograph. Excellent details. Beautiful smile
Have a nice day

Great portrait. Very beautiful lady and I am surprised at the amount of makeup she has done to look so gracious. Must be the part of the ocassion. The little flowers on the head adds greatly to the composition.

A beautiful portrait with lovely hues, and a remarkable sharpness. I had not realised that some would wear wigs instead of their natural hair, but your close-up opens my eyes on the reality. I like very much the sweet smile a little shy.

I hope you are well.
This is a beautiful image, the colours are so soft and gentle, as is the expression of the lady. Her smile is beautiful, and is expressed as much in her eyes as it is in mouth. Wonderful shot, thank you.
