Photographer’s Note

When you came into the Japanese temple or the Shrine, you will see it in some corners, or both sides of the audience hall.
Besides they used for tying and signing the rope of the poem, they have also set one that nailed the full shelf that linked up within.
The full wooden brand is hung above.
In front of the board is the colored pattern. the back is written with the item that earnestly hopes, and who it is.
This board, is named painted horses.

Ancient times in Japan,
The horses are considered to be godˇ¦s transportation.
So if there is a wished needed or a memorial ceremony,
Rich men will offer horses to god.
So we can see so-called Supernatural horse (しんめ) or the supernatural stables (しんめしゃ) in a lot of Shrines.
But that the Shrines can not afford to raise so many horses either,
and the horses is high price,
So they change to present the hobbyhorse later,
And then change to present the plank decorated with the horses gradually.
