Photographer's Note
Even though he is only 130 cm tall and weights only 54 kilograms, ASIMO is a world's celebrity. If you ever meet him, don't be surprised that he can charm even you - being a humanoid robot that's his job. Honda started with the first robot experimental projects in 1986, developing the first humanoid prototype model in 1993, until the first ASIMO was born in 2000. The now actual version of ASIMO is from 2005, with the slight improvements in 2007. He can walk, run, climb the stairs, dance, he can understand voice and gesture commands, people's movements, he can recognize the environment, distinguish sounds, recognize faces. He can charge himself and access Internet...
After finishing with his show, he always waves to the people. The most fascinating thing is that everybody waves back!

Hello Mira, Great notes, and what an interesting figure this fellow is. I was unaware that HOnda had such a humanoid. I had a Honda for many years. Great car. So apparently you saw a show here and this was taken after that. Nice exposure and very creative to present this delightful scene. Regards, Roger

Hi Picea
Asimo is really a superb Honda invention. I have seen a few times in action, it's acute robot with a pleasing sounding voice. Fine capture with good use of the flash to produce vibrant color hues of high sharpness. Well done
Thanks for your critique of my multicultural shot of Malaysia. Good question how these ethnic groups function together. It is not an even playing field. The Malays run the government while the Chinese do business and the Tamil Indians are laborers. It is not that simple, but it is in a way the reality. Enshrined in the constitution, the Malays are the Bumiputra, or sons of the earth, which have unofficially more rights then the others. That could change, as the domestic politics is in turmoil since some time. Perhaps there will be big changes after the next general election, the ruling coalition since independence could loose power to the opposition which almost took over the government in the last general election. Everybody has to wait and see.
Best regards
Urs
