This is Kumagaya with a population of 200,000 in the northern part in Saitama Prefecture. The posting station of the Kumagaya in Nakasendo were placed, and it prospered as a post town at the Edo period.
In the city, there are four national highways including the national highway No.17 and railway route such as Jōetsu Shinkansen, Takasaki Line, and the Chichibu Railway pass, and it has played the role of the important place of traffic even now. As industry, the commerce, a manufacturing industry, and agriculture are developed with sufficient balance. It is an alluvial plain which belongs to Kanto Plain, and it is physiographically inserted into Tone river at the northernmost end and Arakawa on the south. And, there is surrounded ny Chichibu mountain range in west and Mount Akagi in north. Moreover, the maximum output about high temperature and intense heat is observed here also in the whole country in summer. This is considered to be because for the hot wind warmed by the heat island effect of the center of Tokyo and the hot wind from the Chichibu mountain range heated by the foehn phenomena to cross near the sky of the city. This photograph was taken towards the direction of Mount Akagi from on the bridge near the station.

Wow. This picture so much characterizes the typical japan landscape - massive urbanization and mighty nature - all mixed together.

Hi dear Mikio. Mt Akagi is an imposing sight. One hears about Mt Fuji but not Akagi, Nice combination of the natural grandeur and man's unholy mess.Excellent contrast between foreground and backdrop. Regards. Klaudio.

This is an interesting photo which combines natural beauty with a view of a modern industrial landscape. The electricity pylons and the wires create a strange but rather appealing rythmical pattern. I think this photo can be seen as a symbol of modern Japan.

The beautiful mountain is in contrast to the closer range view of the elec.-wires above town's skyline, Mikio.
majestically rise on far, snowy cap, and under bright light. The town rather is under shade.
Fine clear photo, details shown immaculately, and again contrast play major rule on this nice sight.

I like the darkness and the pylons reaching up in the foreground and the link to the bright snow peak mountain in the backdrop create an appealing contrast and depth. You managed the exposure pretty well, good colours and well cropped as attention hovers between the two. Thks to your description, Well done, TFS

This is a very pleasant photo of contrast. The roofs and posts of the suburban area, which seem to pierce into the graceful mountain present a nice tension between the busy foreground and the serene Mount Akagi in the background. It is a very elegant photo, TFS.
