Another (un) typical shot for me. After spending three days in a conference hall it was good to get some fresh air and the Landmark tower afforded just that. I was tempted to crop the sun burst on the top left hand corner, but decided to leave the photo as shot.
Soaring over "Minato Mirai 21", the redeveloped seafront area in Yokohama City, the 70-story, 296-meter (971-foot) Yokohama Landmark Tower is the tallest building in Japan as of May 1998. The building is also equipped with the world's fastest elevator with its maximum speed of 45 km/h (28m.p.h.).

Hello Elaine, although I'm not sure about the composition (specifically the choice of cropping the curve in the right side), I do like your point of view and the curves giving a sensation of vertigo.

I really like this Elaine - a lovely creative viewpoint and excellent framing through which to show the YLT. Personally I think it was a good decision to leave the little sunburst - it lifts the image nicely.
best wishes Kev

Now you're in Yokohama and still serving up the good stuff, Elaine. You are such an inventive photographer, disiplined too.
This is a totally original view of that famous hotel building - it'S modern Japan in all its emptiness, architectural pretentions and vulgar greyness which, when reaching extremes, can seem almost beautiful...Oops (went too far there!)

very good composition here, very graphic with all those curves..congratulations.
I don't like the ray of light in the corner.

is that the elevator or a roller coaster? it looks pretty scary if it is the elevator... something like "the infernal elevator"! haha! i like the shiny apsect of the rollercoaster and the light! good compo too IMO! well done Elaine!

I'm glad you didn't remove the sun, I think it's an important part of the picture that goes well with the sparkling reflections of the steel structures. Nice compo combining the cruved shapes at the front and the rectangular building. I really like the lighting here.

Hi Elaine, I love your transgression here ;-) this is a lovely urban graphism! I love those gleaming dramatical curves. The straight-up PoV is ofcourse vital here. Very nice!
Regards from Rotterdam, Bert.

Indeed a breath taking graphical architetural shot so well seen angle towards the sky getting the well placed building nicely framed in it, a very good one Elaine, I like this style a lot.
