This day a typhoon was approaching here, so a lot of surf lovers came to the beach to enjoy a rare chance.
I tried to capture beautiful girls waiting waves in the late afternoon, setting a slower shutter speed and holding the camera as lower as possible to get motion blur.

Hi Hisashi, you have captured the beautiful girls well - and also the amazing blur of the ocean. I like the large FG you have chosen with the comparatively small horizon. Great use of the vertical framing too. Thanks for sharing, Lisa.

Watch up your camera, Hisashi Yuya, otherwise you may "wash" it ! :-)
Very amazing pic. Good feeling!

Hello Hisashi. Movement, action, dynamics. Indeed an alive and photo worth seeing. Top. Best Regards, Wolfgang.

I like this movement effect you have reached here combining speed and wide angle, still looks very quiet before the typhoon !
Have a nice day JY

I notice you are also playing with the waves on the sea side, but you went much closer than I did in Iceland.
You succeeded in your idea. I like a lot this huge foreground playing with the movement of the waves and providing a lot of originality and dynamism to the shot.
My only minor concern is for the use of the polariser providing a non uniform effect in the sky. From my side, I no more put polarizer below 28mm of focal. I do not say it is a rule, but it is my way to appreciate polarizing rendering.

you didn't catch beautiful girls but you caught a fantastic photo with lovely blurred movement of the water on the foreground.
holmertz (31208) 2009-08-18 2:59
Very nice blur you have captured. I think I have rarely seen the froth of an incoming wave from this angle. The effect is quite spectacular. The people in the narrow triangle of calm water have become even more obvious in this way. The blue sky is dramatically dark.
asajernigan (19669) 2009-08-18 3:34
Your POV is outstanding here using a low camera placement and slower shutter speed to create a sense of motion in the foreground. The use of the vertical format is great allowing you to show excellent depth i the scene. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and DOF.

We have posted very similar pictures today.
I like the effect of the waves in foreground. It gives movement to the picture
wgreis (8267) 2009-08-18 6:49
the "panning" of the lower border is excelent.
The theme is very good too.
Great expression of movement.
danos (78036) 2009-08-18 6:53
a nice snapshot with the low shutter speed to creates a beautiful effect from the moving waves. The existence of the surface is a bonus to the composition.Well done.
belido (19934) 2009-08-18 9:03
very hard to find this type of photos from Japan. You chose the right angle and exposure settings for the effect we see in here. Dynamic and well presented!

Very impressive photo, excellent idea and perfect realisation! Great low POV, great framing and composition, excellent choice of shutter speed, slow enough to get the result to wanted. Great light managment and colours!

What a great tribute to the sea! Don't forget that your camera is not waterproof..; You take risks!
have a great day!

Great angle, and the motion blur of the waves works well. Nice 3rds composition.
marietom (34607) 2009-08-24 5:53
le rendu et le mouvement de l'eau, au premier plan, sont magnifiques. Belle composition.
Wanda1 (14362) 2009-08-25 9:36
Your low point of view, wide angle and the motion blur give a cool effect. It feels like we are right there in the water with them.
azizbilgili (2111) 2009-08-26 2:03
Movement, action, dynamics. Indeed an alive and photo worth seeing...
fanni (13944) 2009-08-26 16:13
the capture of the moving of the water looks so real - that it can many anyone giddy very easily :) Excellent moment! it's both dynamic and static at the same time... I like this low POV. I hope water did not get into your camera!
guitianmiranda (5317) 2009-08-27 7:12
Yeah!!! Great perspective, great angle... great movement effect, I love this one Hisashi.

Thanks for sharing this pictures Now I know that surfers in Japan must like typhoons due to the waves. For others like myself typhoon means loads of rains and more often then not flooding. I have to admit, for a surfer a approaching typhoon must be great and exactly this feeling you brilliantly have captured in your shot. As an introduction the wave and then at the BG the surfers, a perfect DOF combination. Well seen and executed with great sharpness and vivid colors well done
darek1978 (13361) 2009-08-31 9:20
The incoming waves are beautifully captured and bring a great sense of dynamism to the scene. You have used well the longer exposure. Well done!
Thanks for sharing,

Great! Expressive shot! Superb POV, good title (WWW).
Have a nice weekend!
CLODO (26371) 2009-09-12 2:40
very low POV with a wave going to your feet, not frozen even at 1/100s, and at the skyline, a surfer waiting for a good wave to surf. Well organized and taken. I have a similar one in my gallery.
abmdsudi (32471) 2010-09-27 1:03
Magnificient motion effect you showed us and what i admire most is the water movements bearing in mind that with 1/100, the speed of gushing water is really fast. Impressive compo with depth and good perspective, those surfers are nicely placed
in the frame. Lovely color saturation and good contrast, crispy all round. Awesome shot my friend. TFS
mafegan (8622) 2010-10-09 5:34
Very creative and effective. The moving froth is making an interesting blur. Tfs, Marlene
devimeuxbe (58557) 2010-11-02 7:26
good POV, very good POV ! the waves are small but the sensation is maximum. congratulations !
paololg (31446) 2010-11-15 13:50
Ciao dear Hisashi,
it has been really difficult to choose a photo in your gallery, because they are all very beautiful ones. Today I have chosen this, for the amazing effect of the movement of the water that you have captured. The low POV has been a genial choice, that has allowed you this unbelievable and pleasant effect. Sincere congratulations!
Ciao, have a nice day!

This one is very good. Love the way the surf leads us onto the surfers. Good use of the wide angle of yours.

I remember this shot and thought I had left a critique already, but I guess I did not remember correctly. I like this shot, great pov & suitable shutter speed to capture the sweeping waves and the man standing still. Good blue sky too.
Thanks for sharing.

sacimar (25969) 2011-01-26 9:05
I like this composition, the visual water effect and the perspective are excellent, it's a eyecatching picture, well seen,
agjika (4309) 2011-01-27 1:05
This is a suuper photo. The POV is the best and the compo is perfect. The colour of the sky is also beautiful. However!! I would have been tempted to remove those two swimming people from the photo, this would have added freedom and some sort of serenity to the photo. Also the water rush towards the shore is a bit too fast I would have tried to soften it a bit attempting to make a bit more peaceful and milky.
All in all thought is one of you best photots and I really like it.
Ricx (13489) 2011-02-14 15:26
your low level pov and the slow shutter speed vs the speed of the wave creat an excellent perspective of speed .. a lovely back drop of the surfer-- just a superb image well done Rich
bona (11166) 2011-02-28 5:35
a very pretty photo. The wave was fast passing close to you, I like this moviment effect and the more static in the BG. A suberb dark blue sky. You were not afraid to wet your camera?
deffra (177) 2011-02-28 10:35
I love this movement in this picture, original point of vue.wel done and good idea.
